The Christian bookstore has long been a place where Christians can go to buy church supplies, Christian books, Christian music, and a wide variety of other Christian products. Many traditional brick and mortar stores have struggled to survive as more and more people change their buying habits and make their purchases online. I still remember growing up and going to the Christian bookstore to check out all of the latest Christian music CDs and listening to the music previews to see what was new. Today the internet has made it easy to preview music from home, and it is easy to make purchases without leaving home.
The online Christian bookstore is great because they can offer a much wider variety of products. Since they don’t have to keep products on store shelves or stored in boxes in the back, they can greatly expand their product offerings. Here are a few secret products you probably never thought about purchasing in an online Christian bookstore.
Communion Supplies
Have you ever wondered where your church gets the bread they use during communion? Some churches use broken crackers that can be purchased at the store, but many other churches use products that are purchased at online stores. The same holds true for the wine used in communion services. The Catholic Church uses wine with alcohol content, but most other denominations use grape juice. Most Protestant denominations in the United States use grape juice because it is believed this is the juice used in the days of Christ. Overseas, there are many Protestant churches that use real wine.
Larger churches often use grape juice containers with the communion wafer stored on top. This is the easiest way to distribute the elements of communion when you are working with large churches. These prefilled communion cups with wafers can be purchased at an online Christian bookstore. Communion supplies are readily available at a Christian bookstore online.
Kids Toys
Your children are going to play with toys, so why not give them toys that will help promote Christian values? Guitar praise software is the Christian alternative to the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games, as your kids rock out to Christian music and praise and worship songs. Bible Challenge is a fun trivia game that will teach your kids lessons about the Bible they will remember for a lifetime. Veggie Tales have been popular for decades now, and even kids who have never been to church have heard about Veggie Tales.
Church Software
There are many great Christian software packages that can be purchased at an online Christian bookstore. The Apple iPad makes it possible for a pastor to have all of the notes for his sermon in electronic format while he is preaching the sermon. There are various worship software packages like ProPresenter and MediaShout that you can use for worship times so everyone knows the words to the worship songs. There are also many Bible study packages like Bible Explorer 4 Limited Collectors Edition which will help any Christian in studying the Word of God more efficiently.

The Go Fish guys are some of the most popular bands in children’s media today. While many Christians have heard their music, they probably don’t know much about the history of the Go Fish Guys. Many years ago when they were first noticed, they wanted to be the next big thing in Christian music. They hoped to follow in the footsteps of Third Day and DC Talk, but they quickly gained a following with children and young mothers looking for family friendly music. It wasn’t long before MOPS and everyone else wanted them to play at their conventions. Most bands don’t produce music for Vacation Bible School, but there is a huge demand for this music in the summer!
Today, the band is a staple in the Christian children’s music industry. They released their debut album in 2003 with the release of Splash. This music set them up for great success in a genre that craves family-friendly entertainment. They have appeared on The Today Show, and they present “old” music in new formats which appeals to children and young parents too! Many of our kids today have never even heard hymnals in church, but they will hear it when Go Fish sings it. Go Fish has a unique sound that can’t be easily copied, and they continue to release new music today.
The Go Fish guys have produced several great CDS and albums including Superstar, Snazzy, Snow, and Party Like a Preschooler. In recent years, they have been releasing music specifically to use in summer VBS programs at area churches around the world.
They have performed many classics on their albums, and they have released some of their own music too. Here are some of the songs you probably know that you can find within their albums:
If You’re Happy and You Know It
I don’t know any kids that don’t know this song! Go Fish guys has redone this classic song with Christian lyrics that are awesome for Vacation Bible School! Children and even some adults will be singing along with the lyrics of the song! It is on the new VBS album for 2012 titled Praise.
The Crazy Dance
This is the song you’ll see your kids dancing to for months and possibly years to come! You might even catch the parents dancing to The Crazy Dance! This is also from the 2012 album.
Movin to the Beat
Movin to the Beat is similar to the mainstream song Cha Cha Slide. It has all the fun movements of the Cha-Cha slide, and it has been redone with Christian lyrics to help teach kids lessons about the Bible. This is one of the new songs on the 2012 album.
The A B Cs
Yes! The Go Fish guys have a song to help your young children learn their ABCs! This is the perfect song for parents of younger children. You can find the song on the Party Like a Preschooler album.
The Go Fish guys have been producing some of the most professional music for the children’s Christian music for several years now. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel! Get your kids the music from Go Fish guys today!
Mitt Romney isn’t the first über rich presidential candidate. George Washington, who owned 8,000 acres of prime farmland, was “spectacularly wealthy,” says Dan Ackman at Forbes, and “would have made the Forbes 400 of his day.” His marriage to a wealth widow accounted for much of his fortune — estimated by 24/7 Wall Street at more than $500 million in today’s dollars. Incredible but true: “His salary was 2 percent of the total U.S. budget in 1789.” Super-wealthy presidential candidates: A slideshow

“Who of you by worrying can add a single minute to his life” (Matthew 6:27).
God doesn’t want you to live worried and anxious about anything. He knows that worry is counterproductive. It steals your peace and joy and affects every area of your life, even your sleep! Have you heard the saying, “Don’t worry yourself sick?” Yes, worrying will actually make you physically ill. You won’t ever gain anything by worrying, in fact it causes you to lose precious moments that you can never live again. The good news is, God has promised to bring you victory over worry. When you make the choice to put an end to worry, God will give you His peace.Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Don’t feed worry by focusing on bad news all the time. Sure, we should be informed, but we should be most informed of the truth of the Word of God. Choose today to feed your faith and fill your heart and mind with God’s promises. Declare everyday, “My God shall supply all my needs. He makes a way out of no way. He is a Restorer and Redeemer.” As you focus on God’s Word, you’ll drive out worry and fill your heart with faith and expectancy. You’ll be filled with hope and joy and move forward into the blessings God has in store for you.
Read and mediate on Philippians 1:15-18.
15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not…
